Indoor Living Wall for Jaguar Land Rover in Sunbury on Thames

The installation of the 60 m² indoor living wall for the showroom of Jaguar Land Rover in Sunbury on Thames was carried out by Scotscape for Sytner Group, in London.

The technical project for this living wall has been carried out by Terapia Urbana using our modular and flexible Fytotextile® system.

The “landscape” and planting design were carried out by the Scotscape team following a ‘wave’ inspired design consisting of 2940 plants.  The design includes species such as Spathiphyllum korto, Asplenium nidus, and Aglaonema modestum. Many of the plants used are known to reduce indoor harmful VOC’s and improve the air quality.

The importance of auxiliary Illumination for indoor living walls

It is of paramount importance the auxiliary illumination in indoor installations where tropical and subtropical plants are used, supporting their development and growth as well as the bloom.

Previous sunlight studies help to appreciate the natural light the living wall receives and the need for lighting. According to our R&D&I and experimental published studies by the research group AGR-268 Urban Greening and Biosystems Engineering at the University of Seville, a properly designed illumination should fulfill the needs of the plants and please the human eye.

As our client, we are happy and proud that this impressive living wall brings plants indoors and a sense of calm reinforced by the biophilic design.
